Community Impact

“For a long time I felt as if I had no way to impact my community being a Chinese-American teen. I found that we did not have the opportunities to make a difference and fight for the causes I believed in. This program gave me a purpose in life. It taught me to become more than an individual, but a leader for the voiceless and fight for the people that have given me my life.”
Wayland Fong Intern for State Senator Joe Simitian

Approach

The aim of the LEAD program is to teach our students to utilize the skills and resources they have access to and create lasting change within their local communities. By doing this, they inspire other youth to advocate for positive change and usher in a new generation of socially-conscious leaders.
